Founded in 2002, VCRC (Velo Carbon Racing Components) has always focused on the club racer and fast group riders. While we have provided parts for professional riders/teams, our true focus has been on race quality parts at prices that you can afford. Over the past 10 years, we’ve built solid relationships with parts makers and work with many great companies.
We’re a small USA based company, made up of four employees. Our parts are made in the USA, Europe and Taiwan. We build our bearings by hand right here in the USA, not by a machine. This means that when you receive your bearings, one of our four employees built the bearing, greased it and inspected it to make sure it is ready to be ridden. A couple of years ago we merged with our longtime bearing maker, F1 Ceramic. We now run both companies in the same facility but operate the companies separately.
Our components are built either in local USA machine shops for smaller parts and in large bike manufacturer plants in Taiwan for larger parts (stems, handlebars, etc.). We work with these plants to make the parts how we want them, rather than just accepting stock designs like some other companies do.
We offer a focused product line, offering parts that we feel most racers should upgrade. Most stock bikes come with mid level components such as moderate quality handlebars, stems, seatposts, BBs, wheel bearings and so on. These are key areas to upgrade when speed counts. There is no point in racing on heavy, flexible, slow parts when it is so easy to upgrade to our parts and know you have race level equipment.
We only offer products that we can make better than the competition or as good but cheaper. This is why we do not make carbon frames or wheels. Large companies have the resources to perfect these items and we say kudos to them. Instead, we focus on the little things that make your bike faster. Our ceramic bearings are world renowned and have received critical and marketplace praise. Alternatively, our alloy parts are spec for spec on par with brands costing 2-3 times what we charge.
