2012 Cat 4 Challenge

ST3 Cycling has put the Challenge together to help with what is the teams main charter and that is to raise money and awareness of the Save the ta-tas Foundation. This non profit charity is helping fund researchers in the fight of breast cancer and a portion of the team entry fees will be going to them to help in those efforts.

HOW THE Challenge WORKS

The Challenge will consist of 27 events. It all gets started with the Tour de Tuscaloosa the weekend of March 24 & 25, 2012.

**The top 4 riders from each team will be scored. There will be corresponding points awarded for the place that each riders finishes as posted by that event. Keep in mind this is a team competition, so the more riders your team has in the events the more possible spots the extra riders can take away from other teams. If your team does not field 4 riders more motivation to finish higher up.

**Extra Points will be awarded at the 3 Alabama State Championships (Crit-RR-TT) and double points will be awarded at the season ending Team TT.

**Riders must be on their team’s roster as of the first race they enter and verified through the USA Cycling website. Riders who are moving up from Cat 5 must be on their teams roster before they can compete in the series. NO ONE DAY LICENSE

**If a rider wishes to switch teams during the season he only becomes eligible to earn points for his new team once it is verified through USA Cycling that he has changed teams. If a rider does leave, the points that he has earned stay with the team he is leaving.

**Riders earning enough USA Cycling points to move up, (as per the USA Cycling rule book) during the season will no longer be scored if they choose not to move up. However the points that they have earned to that point will stay with the team.

**For a rider to be eligible to compete as part of his team’s 4 man TTT he must have competed in a minimum of 5 series events as a Cat 4.

Payout: 1st place team $1,000.00
